      After years of experience in the employee benefit market primarily dealing with aboriginal organizations in Canada, I found that insurance and pension carriers weren't flexible enough to adequately meet the needs of Status, Inuit, Metis and Non Status employees working together in in a plan. In addition, underwriting smaller plans was extremely frustrating because of restrictive plan design and high cost.In 1995, the Canadian Aboriginal Association Plan (CAAP) was created, a true association employee plan with a twist. First the plan allowed all First Nation organizations, regardless of size, to belong. Second, no shares needed to be bought, no annual membership fee or additional administration fees needed to be paid. And third, each individual employer had the right to choose the benefits they wanted and can afford for their organization. CAAP is internationally trademarked and documentation produced is copy-written. CAAP is celebrating its 23rd year under the slogan "Services do Matter".
