Executive Director

Oct 2008 - Aug 2016
As the Executive Director of the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal (VBM), a position I held for 8 years, I was responsible for consolidating 75 years of history and expertise (the Centre was founded in 1937, the first of its kind in Canada), leading a staff team, managing day-to-day operations and working with a board of directors to conceive and carry out our strategic directives. Creating and maintaining collaborative relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders in the community, public, parapublic and private sectors on the local, provincial and national level was one of my strengths during my tenure. As a result, the Centre was able to consolidate its network of member organizations, continue to expand the reach and content of its training program and introduce new ways of encouraging people to get involved in their communities.

Oct 2001 - Oct 2008
As the manager of the Centre’s training program in the Management of Volunteer Resources, I was constantly in communication with volunteer managers, executive directors and other staff from hundereds of non-profits in the Montreal area and beyond. My tasks included developing appropriate and stimuating training material, supervising and coaching a team of trainers and maintaining a network of groups and inviduals with similar interests. I also undertook many consulting contracts with local, provincial and national organizations. It was a period of intense learning and networking for myself and of increasing credibility for the Centre.
