As the first Volunteer and Engagement Specialist for the organization, I created people-focused processes and developed volunteer onboarding resources, continuing development opportunities, and volunteer appreciation efforts for over 2500 volunteers in alignment with the strategic priorities of the organization. It is extremely rewarding to shape Alpha Delta Pi's volunteer experience. By collaborating with organizational leadership including the 7-member Grand Council, our Board of Directors equivalent and our Strategic Leadership Team, I have been a thought partner and presented solutions to gaps in processes and training. I am particularly proud of the improved data tracking I introduced by collaborating to create a digital application and information hub for alumnae interested in pursuing volunteer opportunities. This real time information made it possible for alumnae to view and understand the needs of the organization. It enabled us to look broadly at our alumnae base and their knowledge, skills, and abilities which enhanced and expanded support opportunities. I created a bimonthly development webinar series for volunteers. For this series, I identify and produce educational content, seek co-facilitators with topical knowledge, and coordinate and run the Zoom sessions. It is satisfying to initiate these learning opportunities and give volunteers an outlet to develop their skills and build relationships with their peers. Designing and creating content for volunteer recognition social media campaigns and communication allows me to lean into my love for creative writing and people appreciation. These recognition campaigns create community and drive volunteer retention.

As a strategic partner at this global brand, I led hiring and onboarding strategies and initiatives for manager and associate level positions for 13 Manhattan stores. Collaboration was key as I partnered with the head store managers of each location to understand their business and people needs. I stacked their stores with quality talent that generated $100+ million annually. A principal factor in my success was my knowledge of retail hiring trends and Gap's competitors' pay and benefits, which enabled the Manhattan Gap stores I supported to maintain their status as a preferred employer. The onboarding and training I conducted was paramount in setting a strong foundation for new hires. The focus on belonging and strong customer service supported Gap's brand expectations. My skills in talent development, project management, and navigating competing priorities and deadlines were able to shine in the fast-paced, exciting environment of the Manhattan retail market.
