Alex is the founder and Director of boutique Architectural practice, Aeta Studio.Alex’s career spans 20 years, leading international award winning projects and practice in the UK, Europe, the USA, and Australia. A focus on design quality and strategic thinking has lead to a strength in projects that lie at the intersection of public life, sustainable design, and technical craftmanship.Through his career, Alex has work on a raft of high profile and environmentally sensitive projects including the Rolls Royce Manufacturing Plant & Headquarters, the Battersea Power Station Redevelopment, the Zürich Airport A500 Airside Centre, the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Centre for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, and Southern Cross Station in Melbourne.With his passion for sustainability, Alex has present for the Green Building Council at events in Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne.In 2018, Alex started Aeta Studio to provide the focused personal design service of a small architectural firm, while applying the experience, strategic thinking and quality processes of a large international practice.

As an Associate Director in Grimshaw's Sydney studio, Alex took responsibility for leading the Australian practice's education, urban design and masterplanning, and environmentally strategic design projects. His focus was on complex and unique briefs, sites, or designs, a role he naturally progressed into throughout his fourteen year career with Grimshaw. Alex has worked in Grimshaw's London, Berlin, Melbourne and Sydney offices on multi-award winning international projects.Alex joined Grimshaw's London office in 2000 and became one of the practice's most progressive designers. Whilst in London, Alex worked on a number of high profile and environmentally sensitive projects throughout the UK, Europe, and the USA, including the Rolls Royce Manufacturing Plant & Headquarters, the Battersea Power Station Redevelopment, the Zürich Airport A500 Airside Centre, and the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York. In 2003 Alex returned to Australia to work on the design and delivery of Southern Cross Railway Station in Melbourne. Since then, Alex was promoted to Associate Director of the practice and championed the emerging urban and environmental infrastructure sectors, as well as leading education and specialist design projects.
