As Chief Fire Officer for Petroleum Development Oman I was responsible for providing emergency response throughout Oman to 8 industrial/accommodation sites, 3 Category 7 Airports, marine terminal, pumping stations and Main Oil Line.I also had the following duties: Manage a Capital/Revenue budget of $11 million and approx. 200 staff Fire Investigation into any fatalities.Lead Incident Investigation into numerous emergency incidents.Provide emergency response advice from strategic/corporate level to operational level.Key participant in numerous oil/gas projects together with fire engineers and global Shell HSE staff.Work with fire engineers to review and update existing Fire Explosion Risk Management (FERM) reports.Advisor to projects throughout oil and gas industry including drilling rigs, gathering stations and tank farms.Specialist advisor on Enhanced Oil Recovery projects.Key member of oil and gas National Mutual Aid group and key observer at national exercise. Contract Holder for a $15 million fire service manpower contract, a $0.4 million Fire Fighting Equipment Maintenance contract and a $1.5 million fire training rigs project.Develop short/medium/long term strategic plans for all emergency response matters.H2S Trained and qualified with regular working in high H2S sites.Support Corporate HSE teams.Command of Emergency Incidents at Major Incidents throughout Oman.
