Recruited by company president to serve as General Manager based on ability to provide hands on leadership. Led the start up of a new business venture, with full P & L responsibilities from concept to profitability. Able to identify markets and business opportunities to drive growth, reduce cost, improve market positioning and strengthen the bottom line. This new division started with only two employees and myself in a small 3,000 square foot facility with three injection molding machines. As the company grew, my responsibilities increased: scope of responsibility includes operating management, sales and marketing, human resources, purchasing, supply chain management, warehousing, transportation, customer service and administrative functions. The company grew to a 20 million dollar company with three divisions: a tool building facility in Leominster and two injection molding divisions in Fitchburg; the consumer products and medical molding divisions consist of a 70,000 square foot facility with 100 employees. As General Manager, I had 9 supervisors and 70 employees reporting directly to me. • Personally built relationships with customers, such as Tupperware, Safety 1st,Gillette, Atrium Medical, WD-40, and many local companies throughout New England by supplying what our customers wanted, when they wanted them.• Introduced continuous improvement in all areas of the company slashing labor cost thru automation and process improvements• Spearheaded quality management and the implementation of ISO 9000• Negotiated with material, product, and equipment suppliers to secure the best pricing and favorable terms, thus helping to sustain growth and increase cash flow
