Developed people sensing system for a multi-million dollar, interactive corporate showroom. Showroom leveraged 350 sq. ft. LED floor with large adjacent LED wall for showing company content and taking users through interactive experiences. Sensor system consisted of a networked computer vision system (for high accuracy positioning) together with a Bluetooth real-time location tracking system (for identifying unique users). During this time, for another client, I also developed a turn-key computer vision application to be used for people detection using ceiling-embedded FLIR thermal cameras. The application is flexible enough to be used in a variety of different camera/room configurations with minimal reworking. Some features included:-Multi-threading allows simultaneous image processing on many different cameras.-Real time image stitching features to crop and arrange camera feeds within aggregate.-Camera image warping to correct perspective distortion and "fish-eye" lens effects.-Image mask drawing tool for masking camera hotspots and project specified "dead zones".-Custom contrast shifting algorithm to isolate objects from background noise.-Smart background subtraction allows system to adapt to changing ambient conditions.-Algorithm for joining together piece-wise detections resulting from thermal camera artifacts.

Developed large scale computer vision system for interactive space using OpenFrameworks/C++ toolkit. Project contained 14 heat vision cameras in 6 separate corridors for a total of 1,700 sq. ft. of interaction space.Disclaimer: This large scale project was was a collaboration between many different entities including, but not limited to ESI Design, Audio, Video & Controls, and Diversified. My part in the project was solely (and single-handedly) developing the computer vision system and therefore give credit to others for all other project aspects.
