I coordinate a county wide initiative aimed at increasing the 40 Developmental Assets in youth. Research shows the higher level of assets a youth has the less likely they are to participate in risky behaviors and the more likely they are at becoming successful adults. This work is done through igniting the community and empowering the youth to build positive relationships. Additionally, the Positive Youth Development goal is to increase protective factors in youth decreasing their risk factors.
