Ensuring the employee journey onboard a Virgin Voyages ship, is just as epic as our sailors. Responsibilities included:* Spear heading stay warm & launch plans, to deliver two new ships into operation (Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady).* Working with port authorities around the world to ensure smooth onboarding operations, throughout ramp up and operational phases* Attending leadership meetings with all HOD’s (inc the Captain), to champion the overall Crew experience in line with brand values and budget requirements * Leading for all shipboard communications (inc leadership briefings and strategic comms), for all BAU, brand & emergency communications.* Chief liaison officer between ship and shoreside teams.Additional Responsibilities * Delivered on our “Family Love Creed” by running daily entertainment and enrichment events, to help strike a work/life balance * Achieving inclusivity targets for 1,600 crew from 52 different nationalities.* Managing internal comms channels to plan, monitor, design and deliver digital content (video/static via WorkPlace, email and digital signage) to achieve a 78% engagement rate. * Becoming the “go to person” for all crew to share ideas and concerns prior to HR evolvement* Work with external brand partners (inc Red Bull and Heineken) to build brand love with our Crew. * Support Global Goals initiatives and deliver impact events all around the EU. As the only Crew Office Associate working alongside the Crew Office Manager, it was our responsibility to redefine the current Crew Office function, and help the business transition from a minimal manning (300 crew) to a full manning status (1,100 crew), in time for our August re-launch. Traversing the plethora of international travel restrictions affecting our every decision, we were still able to welcome c.800 new & returning crew from around the world, in true Virgin fashion. A major aspect of my role was to ensure complete compliance with multiple maritime and government regulations. This required stringent documentation of all visas and STCW certifications, as well introducing new crew sign on & quarantine protocols, in line COVID-19 restrictions. Additional duties included:*Aiding the Clearance function, by producing and publishing crew and sailor manifests*Delivering Rockstar service to all onboard crew members during office hours*Distributing crew mail to operational and isolated crew members

As the first cruise line to launch in nearly 24 years, Virgin Voyages has one objective, to disrupt the industry and create an epic sea change for all.By joining one of the world's largest ever start-up companies ($4 billion initial investment), I've been fortunate enough to play a key role in launching a "game changing" cruise concept, within the inaugural Sailor Services team. Here are just a few of my highlights so far:* Meeting Richard Branson... again (Yes, that's him in my profile picture)* Liaising and assisting with key brand partners, media, influencers, investors and VIP's at the help desk, during the inaugural sailings (UK)* Supporting the first ever sign on process of c.1k crew members, which included medical and visa document processing, as well as general crew engagement practices * Fulfilling all requirements of the Crew Engagement Manager position (for a limited time), which included; * Planning and executing various events and internal comms activities * Creating and launching the first Crew Engagement competition (via social media) * Streamlining process and delivering efficiencies for both shipboard and shoreside senior teams * Being handpicked to feature on an ITV documentary, showcasing the launch of Scarlett Lady * Completing Scarlet Lady's first transatlantic crossing, while supporting our Sailors during the various challenges they faced throughout the Covid-19 crisis

Managing a small marketing team of 2 executives, I introduced a new communications platform “Coffee on a mission” to modernise the brand and improve awareness/recognition/relevancy.Launched the world’s first range of plastic-free coffee and executed an above the line broadcast TV campaign, reaching over 1.8 million (live and VOD), supported by retail activations in Waitrose and Co-op.Project managed Percol’s exhibition at the world’s largest coffee event ”The London Coffee Festival”. Negotiated free headline sponsorship worth £17k by developing the Ground2Ground campaign, an initiative preventing 7 tonnes of waste coffee from going to landfill. I also organised a guest panel session with high profile speakers from Waitrose, Fairtrade and Lavazza. Updated digital footprint via new website and increased Instagram following by 72% in first eight months. Implemented new influencer strategy and forged new strategic alliances with like-minded brands (inc. Fairtrade).
