As a Non-Commissioned Officer Squad leader I was directly responsible for 12 other marines of lesser rank or experience. I was held responsible for the outcome of their actions and productivity in training as well as day to day work environment. As a Marine I would not only lead by example with physical fitness but also respect while keeping up to date on current knowledge. I would aid the Platoon Leader with planning for training, preparing presentations or briefs, and disciplining/correcting mistakes. In combat I would aid my supervisor in route planning, mission briefing, and equipment serviceability.
