    Overseeing all nutrition related activities in WFP Laos with particular focus on:1.Supporting the implementation of the WFP Laos Country Strategy 2011-2015 through provision of strategic and technical guidance in nutrition to management and all concerned units in the country office and sub offices.2. Overall management of the WFP MCHN programme on the prevention of stunting in the first 1000 days. The programme is currently implemented in 11 districts across three provinces.3. Technical inputs and coordination of WFP's component of a maternal and child health and nutrition joint programme between the Lao Ministry of Health, UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP & WHO. Main responsibilities include capacity building of Ministry of Health staff, resource mobilisation and joint implementation planning.4. Leading the WFP Laos CO on a number of innovative nutrition activities including: a. Providing in-country technical support and guidance on a planned effectiveness study of Plumpy’Doz b. Leading a partnership with the United States of America (USA) Embassy in Vientiane of awareness raising in nutrition through strategic collaboration on field missions, public service announcements (PSAs) and nutrition trainings.c. Using technology for improved monitoring through Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)5. Representing WFP Laos on the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) movement in Lao PDR, co-leading the UNDAF Outcome 5 Group on Food and Nutrition Security and contributing to all nutrition-related meetings and forums.6. Capacity building of WFP staff in nutrition, analytical thinking, planning and coordination.7. Direct supervision and management of an international nutrition programme support officer, two national senior programme assistants and a national programme assistant.
