Tyler Horan, Founding CTO at Topline. Dr. Tyler Horan is the Founding Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Topline, where he leads the company's technological vision and oversees the development of AI-powered tools that help professional services firms grow. Tyler joined Topline following the company's pre-seed funding round, bringing deep expertise at the intersection of technology and human networks. Tyler is a distinguished leader in Computational Social Science and Machine Learning , with extensive research focused on social networks, online communities, and digital marketplaces. His unique ability to combine rigorous data analytics with an understanding of social dynamics makes him ideally suited to build the AI systems that power Topline's growth platform. Before Topline, Tyler served as a technical leader at Handshake , the career platform connecting college students with employers, and at Bright Software , where he honed his skills in building scalable platforms that match people with opportunities. His career bridges the gap between academic research and production-grade engineering. Tyler holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the New School for Social Research , where his doctoral work explored the dynamics of online communities and professional networks. He has also held academic positions in computational social science, contributing research that has advanced the field's understanding of how digital platforms shape professional relationships and economic outcomes. At Topline, Tyler's mission is to build technology that understands the nuances of professional trust — creating AI agents that are intelligent enough to be useful but principled enough to respect the high-trust relationships that define law firms, financial advisors, and medical practices.
