New Cities - Built From The Ground Up! Sustainable City Project's mission is to bring together the best people, the latest research and technology, and the most creative city planning and design talent from around the world to build the first sustainable city in the United States from the ground up - starting now! The Sustainable City Project (SCP) is building the first sustainable city in the US from the ground up. We are helping the country prepare for the impact of sea level rise. While there is a great deal of work being done to prepare our existing cities, it won't be enough to handle the migration of between 10 million - 30 million people who will have to leave their homes and communities. New city infrastructure must be built and SCP is working with scientists, researchers, architects, developers, investors and corporate partners to create new investment, innovation and ultimately hundreds of thousands of new jobs in the process.
