Overview

The story of Poggiotondo begins in 1968 with Carlo Antonini, teacher, passionate about agriculture and beekeeper, bought the properties historically belonged to the Conti Guidi, an ancient noble family who owned lands in Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, and has given the village its name, Cerreto Guidi in the Medioevo. The great passion of Carlo for viticulture was transmitted to his son Alberto who, together with his wife Alessandra, aims to enhance the territory with respect for the Tuscan vine growing and winemaking tradition. Located in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Pisa, Poggiotondo’s wines are a pure expression of the Chianti region. Alberto and Alessandra Antonini, following the principles of organic agriculture, grow their vineyards in a natural and balanced environment. The goal is to make wines with a strong territorial identity, wines that become a symbol of a respected and given territory.
