Boschetto Campacci

Overview

The Boschetto Campacci estate is located in the hills of Chianti Classico in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, 20 km from Siena. The property lies on a plateau close to the last extremities of the Chianti Hills, at an altitude of approximately 390 metres above sea level. Boschetto Campacci extends over 22 hectares of land, 11 of which are cultivated with vineyards and 3 with olive trees. Created as a project for private use only, the estate Boschetto Campacci belongs to the Frascino family. In 2016, after having acquired the estate and the surrounding land, Luigi Frascino approached Riccardo Cotarella with the proposal to manage the wine project together to return those lands back to their ancient vocation: that of bearing once again those fruits for which they had been destined since 1878, and restore the production of a great Tuscan wine. The agronomic restructuring of the vineyards and the start of production have been carried out over the years with the aim of both planting new vineyards and recovering the landscape and wine-growing heritage. The estate's original vineyards still bear witness to the oenological vocation of this terroir. Most of the vineyard area is planted with Sangiovese, other small plots are planted with Canaiolo and Merlot grapes. About 3 hectares of Sangiovese are planted in the entire area, recovered from the valuable pre-existing vineyards with an age ranging from 40 to 60 years; there are also 8 hectares of new plantings with an average age of 5 years. Today, the entire area is once again perfectly integrated in the context of Chianti Classico.
