Empower New Energy is an award-winning impact investor in African renewable power generation, with proven business and operating model. We serve Commercial and Industrial clients and local communities by mobilizing international capital and operating assets effectively. In partnership with our local development partners, we prepare the projects for investment, finance the construction and manage the assets. Nigeria is one of Empower’s investment countries, alongside Ghana, Egypt, Kenya and Morocco. Empowers investors are Norfund, ElectriFI (European Union) & 15 Norwegian and European private investors. Through our impact investment fund, we bring equity and mobilise climate finance needed for projects that meet our investment criteria. Our projects ensure both cost savings and reliable electricity supply for the off-takers, and reduce their vulnerability of natural disasters and fluctuating fossil fuel prices. Our portfolio of investments deliver competitive financial return as well as outstanding CO2 reductions, job creation and other sustainable impact. Our value proposition is to provide a lean and flexible financing plattform which allows for diverse, small-scale projects to be built around industry, agriculture and commercial activity, with the primary aim to increase the speed of change from fossil energy to a renewable energy society.
