National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Act, 1998. NIPER was declared as an “Institute of National Importance” under the Act of Parliament on 26th June 1998. NIPER is a member of Association of Indian Universities. It's first batch was established in the year 1998 offering masters and PhD in 15 streams, including Biotechnology and caters to various needs of Pharmaceutical industry. The laboratories in department are working in area of cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, parasitology, cell culture.
