    The Symphoni team has developed an operational prototype of an unique development language called XC Technology. It is an integrated development and run-time environment with inbuilt testing and rigorous operational compliance enforcement that enables users to configure and then immediately operate any application, all by conversing in plain English without any IT skills or any coding.No programmers, no database designers, no voluminous business analyst documents and savings in orders of magnitude of time and cost. For example, an application of 324 function points was built, tested and operational in 4 hours. Metrics for traditional development would indicate costs of $388K over 8 months. Extrapolate this order of magnitude of benefits to the whole nation and that would result in a significant “prosperity outcome”.We are at the stage where we need to collaborate to move towards productisation and so the next step is to identify someone who would be able to evaluate the viability of our new technology.

    One of the most interesting and exciting roles that I have had even as a part time consultant (4 days a week) due to the leadership of a most insightful "CIO", Chris Ruwoldt. When the Director General of Transport for NSW brought in a new debilitating ideology of "employee only" together with "spill and fill", I watched the TMC knowledge asset developed over many years in about 40 contracted consultants walk out the door and, in protest of stupidity (endemic across the corporate world called "reform"), joined them! From a cohesive, harmonious and productive team that Chris established, a new team was recruited over about a year and they had to learn their job, establish 360 degree relationships, liaise with many stakeholder groups, learn the complex organisation and somehow deliver in a new world of multi-mode transport, predictive analytics and operations that are increasing at an increasing rate in criticality to the traveling public. I hope this analysis is useful to other organisations contemplating "reforming" to dyfunctionality.
