    I joined Cullens in 2001 as a trainee patent attorney and trade mark attorney. Prior to joining Cullens, I completed studies in business, law and engineering at the University of Queensland giving me a unique appreciation for the economic as well as legal and technical aspects of inventions and branding in a modern business. My undergraduate thesis was partially directed towards how patents and trade marks have a part in an engineer's working life.

    Whilst at University, I decided that I wanted to gain some business experience and was hired by (then) Silvio's Pizza (which was subsequently acquired by Dominos Pizza Enterprises) as a trainee manager. I deferred University for a period whilst undertaking the training. I completed my training and worked for a short time as a manager of a franchised store before returning to University full time. It was an enjoyable period and taught me a lot about management of a business but also customer service and what customers expect.
