    JOB SUMMARYThe Associate of Family Ministry is responsible for the growth, oversight, programming and coordination of ministries for the children and the families at St. Andrew’s UMC. The incumbent reports directly to the Director of Family Ministry.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES1. Assist the leadership of SAUMC to grow the ministry of children, youth, and their families in the church.2. Attend worship and offer assistance in worship leadership in order to involve children in the worship life of the church (Children’s message, etc.).3. Serve as Nursery Coordinator with specific emphasis on birth through 3 years of age, as well as, the parents of the children.4. Assist in coordinating and planning of seasonal events and service projects for children (Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat, Christmas, Easter, etc.).5. Assist in coordinating and planning events and service projects for the student ministry on a monthly basis.6. Assist in coordinating and planning events for the families on an as needed basis.7. Serve on committees that relate to all children, youth, and educational ministries as needed.8. Provide input in developing a yearly budget to serve Family Ministry program.9. Assist in the development and supervision of weekly ministries for children, youth, and their families.10. Recruit and support lay volunteers to assist with these ministries (i.e. Mid-week ministry, etc).11. Assist in the development and leading of weekly ministries for children, youth, and Christian education, enlisting and equipping lay volunteers for these ministries (i.e. After-school programs, Mid-week ministry, etc.).12. Act on behalf of the Director of Family Ministry in the event of their absence.13.Meet with the Director of Family Ministry as directed.14.Attend staff meetings as needed.
