    As a company representative for Chevron, I am responsible for issuing General work permits and Hot Work Permits to the construction team on a producing offshore oil and gas platform. Prior to issuing permits, I have to assure the area is safe for work. This includes verifying the area is gas free, and all required safety equipment is in place. I am also responsible for monitoring the work areas to assure all safety rules and SOPs are followed. If conflicts between the construction operations and the production operations arise, I am involved in mediating these conflicts.
