Under the direction of Dr. Gideon Rodan, contributed to the development of the first drug treatment for osteoporosis, alendronate (Fosamax) and a second osteoporosis drug, now in Phase 3 clinical trials, first-in-class Cathepsin K inhibitor, Odanacatib. Contributed to multiple drug development programs for bone disease including DKK-1 antagonists, selective estrogen and androgen receptor modifiers, integrin antagonists and glucocorticoid receptor modifiers. Created in vivo and in vitro assays for drug efficacy, generated data submitted to the FDA, and reported findings in leading scientific journals and at International meetings. Major proficiencies in histology, microscopy and imaging technologies- including light, electron, and confocal microscopy, environmental Scanning electron microscopy, Micro-Computerized Tomography, dual x-ray absorptiometry, immunolabeling, autoradiography, and histomorphometry.
