    Joined the Sri Lanka Army on 20th January 1989 and trained at Sri Lanka Military Academy and at the Indian Military Academy respectively. Was commissioned to the rank of Second Lieutenant to the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps. Served in Special Forces for seven and a half years, commanded an Infantry battalion and an Armoured regiment during the humanitarian operations by conducting missions related to the humanitarian activities and rescuing innocent civilians from terrorism.Subsequently employed in United Nations Mission in South Sudan as a Military Liaison Officer in the Field Integrated Operational Centre (FIOC)in2016/17 Conducting protection of civilians by sharing expertise knowledge and skills by providing consultation in overcoming emergency/disaster situations both natural and man - made. Appointed as the Chief Instructor and the Commanding Officer during 2017/18 at the prestigious Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) which is the premier military training institute for local/ foreign Lady and Gentleman Officer Cadets. Was actively involved in many rescue and resettlement missions and tasks in a number of natural disaster situations that occurred in Sri Lanka. Subsequently, Commanded 511 and 512 Infantry Brigades in northern Sri Lanka during 2018/19. Appointed as the Assistant Military Secretary in the Military Secretary’s Branch, Sri Lanka Army Headquarters in 2019/20 during which was able to coordinate many civil /military networking by empowering subordinates over continuous supervision with transparency in order to find feasible options during the triggering pandemic situations and it's related challenging situations. Holds an unblemished, high caliber service in Commanding, Academic and Staff officer for 33 +years. Presently as Commandant- SLMA which is a degree awarding institute to convert young civilians into Commissioned Lady and Gentleman Officers to the Sri Lanka Army and friendly foreign countries.
