    In my position as Deputy Head of Department I assist the Head of Department in the running of the department. This involves tracking pupils’ progress using data, managing staff and communicating withparents. If the Head of Department is absent, I perform his role. I am solely responsible for setting and developing the Year 7 and Year 8 Mathematics curriculum. This involves writing the curriculum, preparing resources, tracking pupils, running collaborative meetings to share resources and using data to develop our practice. I also develop initiatives to encourage students to get involved in Mathematics outside the classroom. This work has resulted in students making significantly more progress during Years 7 and 8 than previously.Taught Mathematics classes from Year 7 to Year 12My GCSE examinations have been consistently excellent. The results are much better than similar classes in previous years and 1.5 grades have been added to my student’s scores from the Mock examination to the actual examination.
