    I was hired to correct a massive unique identifier standardization problem. The company collects records from all over the country. None of the counties have the same standard for setting an ID to a record. Using SQL, T-SQL, and some PL/SQL in SQL Server Management Studios I created an automated system that creates format masks, splits the ID into multiple fields, and finally, based on multiple sets of criteria, reassembles its parts into a uniform format and unique identifier.
