Dynamic Graphics has experienced tremendous growth over the last couple years and they asked if I would consider returning. My experience with their brand allowed me to get up to speed quickly. Daily tasks include product and packaging design, marketing, print and web design, 3D modeling, product photography and trade show design.

I returned to Firehouse as a designer and production technician. Firehouse then realized the opportunity to invest in a marketing strategy. As Marketing Director I'm leading the charge in re-branding a company that has never embraced marketing. I have restructured our brand as both a retail- and wholesale-friendly graphics provider with a national client base. We are aggressively e-marketing, creating print collateral, producing informational videos and getting our name in front of clients like never before. We are also innovating the way our clients place, monitor and manage their orders through an new online portal and serious internal automation. The results have been very exciting to see.

I began taking freelance design work as a further creative outlet. I nurtured a select group of clients for a number of years. Then I focused my attention on recreating movie-related, fine art prints under my Metropolis name. I bounced around a couple web markets before settling in at etsy in 2010. You can view my on-line portfolio at www.metropolisgrafix.com. There's also a link to my etsy shop.

      • Carmel, IN

5MetaCom is the largest agency in Indiana specializing in marketing technical and scientific products. At 5MetaCom, I ran the gamut from concept and layout to production and proofing. I functioned as art director on projects that fell within my specific areas of expertise such as web, html, 3D modeling and Flash. I also worked in conjunction with the senior art directors and realized their visions on both Mac and PC platforms.5MetaCom primarily utilized Adobe Creative Suite, QuarkXPress and Flash, however, clients also receive finished layouts in Word and Powerpoint for their convenience, so I've pushed the design limits of those programs as well. I have researched, implemented and managed the job archiving and cataloging system which contained over 6,000 jobs from the last 8 years.

  • WoodWorks Films
    • Indianapolis, IN
    • Art Director
      • May 2003 - Apr 2007
      • Indianapolis, IN

WoodWorks was the brain child of Indianapolis native Gary Wood. Along with production partner Justin Escue, they put together a completely volunteer crew and shot their first film in the summer of 2003. The result was the award-winning "Saving Star Wars." The film is a parody about a father trying to fulfill his son's wish to contact George Lucas and personally ask him to continue making Star Wars films. Comedy ensues as the father and his best friend "accidently" kidnap George Lucas. Dave (Darth Vader) Prowse also has a leading role.I heard about the production on local radio and volunteered my design services. They readily accepted my offer and I was soon inundated with requests for everything from logos and business cards to multiple websites, actor photo shoots, posters, banners, flyers, press kits, DVD covers and on-location consulting.I continued in that role for WoodWorks' second production, "OPEN MIC'rs." It followed a varied group of stand-up comedians through a fictional comedy competition. The ensemble cast included Cindy (Caddyshack) Morgan, Hank McGill, Etta May and Dave Dugan. That led to the creation of a website for Cindy Morgan's Caddyshack Celebrity Golf Tournament in 2006.

PanAngling was a full-service travel agency specializing in outdoor adventures. The driving force behind this 26-year-old company was Pat Galyan who blazed a trail to the top of the retail sporting goods industry with stores bearing his name. I was personally hired by Mr. Galyan to facilitate the production of all design work in-house. During my time as Art Director at PanAngling, I revamped the graphic identity of the company to the status of an industry leader. That plan was reflected in company logos, letterhead & business cards, numerous full-color catalogs, a bi-monthly adventure newsletter, print ads, website design, trade show displays, direct mail and corporate proposals. As the one-man art department, I took all projects from concept to completion. My responsibilities included executing multiple design projects simultaneously, copy writing, photography, purchasing and maintaining hardware & software, overseeing press checks, managing and archiving graphics files and constantly working miracles to meet deadlines!PanAngling was forced to close due to the sharp and sudden decline in travel following September 11, 2001.
