    My job at the National Archives requires me to focus on the retrieval of Permanent Records from federal agencies into the Archives. Since many agencies hold onto their permanent records and do not retire them in a timely fashion - it is the job of the permanent records capture team to bring those records in or to at least see that agencies are aware that there is a need to send them to the archives. Boring right? Not at all. My job is fun because I not only have the opportunity to teach, travel, work with amazing people but I also have the opportunity to work with important historical records.

    Currently working as a consultant with Congressman Robert A. Roe’s Congressional, State and Local Papers. Working 15 hours per week processing (appraisal, arrangement, description etc.) according to provenance and original order. Incorporating the Greene and Meissner approach – when applicable - to document, photographs and all forms of media.

    Worked on the National Archives accessioning procedures. Responsibilities included refoldering and identifying any missing records, in addition to reconstructing the accession dossiers - requiring knowledge of SF258, 135, 115, NA14039 and 14044 forms. Staffed reference desk. Duties included pulling and refiling documents, assisting genealogists and other patrons, and performing research for written inquires.Assisted patrons with genealogical search engines and microfilm machines.
