    Checkers asked me to return to South Africa and join them, saying that the company was decentralising and that they needed strong people. After turning them down, my wife and son pestered me to return which I did. Not long after my return, Shoprite acquired Checkers. After spending time at the Superstore division I was asked to go and run the OFS operation. I refused and was then told that I would go nowhere in Shoprite.In the meantime I introduced ethnic hair care into the ethnic profile stores, developed plan-o-grams and turned Shoprite into the largest ethnic hair care retailer.My culture and the Shoprite culture clashed and bearing in mind that they had stated that I would go nowhere in Shoprite forr turning down the OFS position, as soon as I could, after being able to sell my executive shares I resigned.

    Highly successful young women's fashion boutiques where we designed and manufactured our own garments.We were approached by people to sell them franchises which I first declined as I was planning to open in these areas but eventually saw the benefit and began franchising.We were also approached by departmental stores to supply them. Instead of supplying our own label, one of my designers would visit the customer and together with their selector design and manufacture garments under another brand name for that departmental store customer.
