The vision of ICT is to “be the enabler of change for UNISA through innovative use of technology”. This knowledge is used to identify emerging technologies that can be used in support of business innovation or improvement. The Division plays a role in the initiation of new solutions with a focus on leading edge technologies. Therefore the Division sets up, oversees and coordinates investigations into the future advances in the fields of technology and information. This will enable Unisa to take the best advantage of the latest developments in information and technology. The Technology Direction Division models its approach on COBIT 5: - Create an environment conducive to innovation. - Maintain an understanding of the enterprise environment. - Monitor and scan the technology environment. - Assess the potential of emerging technologies and innovation ideas. - Recommend appropriate further initiatives. - Monitor the implementation and use of innovation
