My responsibility was to:● Launch commercial fishing activities in Angola focused the catching and processing of Hake.● Obtain sustainable fishing quotas for Hake from the Ministry of Fisheries in Angola. ● License our fleet of foreign fishing vessels with the Ministry of Fisheries in Angola.● Develop a local a market for our fish products in Angola and manage the distribution channels.● Be the liaison officer to establish and maintain favourable relationships with the Ministry of Fisheries and the Ministry of Commerce in Angola.The 2013 economic downturn and the consequent market volatility rendered the enterprise unsustainable for our strategic partner, and they decided not to invest in Angola.We closed the business because it was impossible to secure further strategic foreign investment partnerships.
