    Responsible for working with the executive, section leads and team members of each section of the Information, Innovation and Technology (IIT) Division to continue the establishment and growth of the new operating model and to help meet the IIT business plan vision, mission, goals and objectives.This includes engaging clients and other government partners on the value and goals of the new operating model including processes, roles and responsibilities as they are defined and improved. While this is a shared responsibility across the division, the Product Portfolio Manager (PPM) role will be most successful once our partners and clients understand the operating model, how the PPM role will assist them in proactive planning on modernization, rationalization and investment prioritization of their existing and planned systems. Work progressively to inform clients on their role as product managers and product owners in assuming responsibility for driving business priorities forward in support of the portfolio themes as well as ensuring their branch or section priorities are understood relative to the client’s division and Ministry.

    Program Director role from October 2017 was expanded in May 2018 to include the other program areas focused on specific Natural Resource Ministry lines of business: Crown Lands and Forestry. Through the management of three program teams each with a portfolio of two to six project active at one time, the focus is on successful delivery of business transformation objectives regardless of the technical solution through business driven priorities. The blend of work is on business change and improvements, transformation governance, technical solutions through traditional waterfall and an increased focus on agile methodologies and principles. Recent organizational changes have seen the three program teams kept intact with direction to reduce overall scope and cost to ensure successful delivery on a subset of work. There are constant challenges, political currents and complex issues to be resolved in a simple and focused manner; all of which is an enjoyable and ever humbling aspect of the role.Regardless, empowerment, individual leadership and professional growth of my team members as well as humour are maintained and improving continuously. Many of my mentors have retired or moved on to other work and areas and my personal goal is to continue mentorship and growth anywhere I am able.
