    Provided engineering design consulting in support of chemical weapons destruction systems. Supported development of a customized small scale chemical weapons destruction system to eliminate specially configured chemical weapons munitions. Responsible for development of overall electrical systems including N+1 backup utility feeds and generator plant systems (4MVA) feeding the munitions destruction complex. Electical systems included redundant transfer switches with A and B busses with tie breaker, A and B motor control centers to support large pumps and motors along with a backup static UPS systems to feed plant industrial control systems and data collection networks. Provided design for new wireless radio system to support production workers in full chemical suites for operations and maintenance support. Also supported existing chemical weapons destruction plant troubleshooting daily issues and assisting with acccelerating completion of a major backlog of work orders related to monitoring chemical weapons emissions and control system upgrades and modifications. Provided guidance for formal inspection and testing of site wide lightning and surge protection system that led the facility to pass inspection for the first time in years without any corrective actions required.

    Senior Advisory Engineer responsible for the development of numerous research and development projects that included both military applications along with lab directed research projects. Throughout the 18 years at the INL, projects included:Project Manager responsible for the design of a first generation nuclear materials assessment system based upon a 25 ft trailer frame. Managed the design and fabrication of numerous support systems for integration into the mobile platform. Project delivered to Homeland Security to be used as the basis of several follow-on systems stationed throughout the U.S.Project Manager responsible for the development of a munitions assessment system for assaying stored chemical munitions located at Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas. System consisted of two separate HVAC systems, custom stainless steel modular assessment and containment modules that supported workers in full chemical suits with fresh air respirators for entry, unpack/assessment of weapons, and decontamination chambers. Led team to develop systems for control, assessment, monitoring and overall data collection. Led team to perform full testing and commissioning activities and ensured systems were maintained during operations. Design engineer responsible for the development of modular communication systems integrated into special HMMWV shelter units. Lead team to fabricate systems and participated in qualification testing at Fort Hood. System provided real time communications for forward line assessment and control.Design engineer responsible for the development of several command and controls system components that included both control and video distribution systems for several military base locations including the NORAD command center. Developed special technologies to support state of the art high bandwidth video distribution systems, high resolution monitor and project systems, along with fiber optic based systems for secure transmission of video and data.

    Senior Design Engineer responsible for the development of military communications systems including SATCOM, first generation digital radios and standard analog radio systems including VHF, HF, and LF.At Boeing I worked on numerous projects that included:Integration of new SATCOM communication systems into the Presidental E-4 Command Post Airplane. Developed drawings, specifications and conducted Qualification Acceptance Testing of the new systems which included red/black communications and key crypto equipment.Key team member in the redesign of AWACS control consoles. Updated AWACS airframe to accommodate fourteen consoles versus original design of nine. Upgraded monochromatic monitors to full color and participated in the Qualification Test program to certify new systems prior to implementation in all aircraft.Development of key components for a complex $1.5B command and control system for Saudia Arabia. System consisted of six underground command centers, 17 radar sites, and 10 air to ground communication links. Responsible for development and testing of a new state of the art Voice and Radio Control system that included first generation touch screen controls. Also responsible for new technology search for Command Center status boards and new radio systems for communications to the AWACS and other aircraft.Transferred to Commercial Airplane division at the start of the development of the new 777 airframe. Responsible for the design of the cockpit communication systems that included ACARS along with research into new digital radio systems to support data link services from the ground to the airplane.
