Provide technical support to users of the ANSYS general purpose finite element program. Areas of interest include high and low frequency electromagnetic simulation, electric field simulation, and bi-directional coupling between these fields and mechanical, thermal, and fluidic responses. Also involved in presales activities in which the applicability of the program needs to be demonstrated to prospective clients.I have been using ANSYS extensively since 1982. I enjoy the challenges associated with multi-disciplinary and coupled field finite element simulation. I feel privileged to have been exposed to a very wide range of novel technologies and to have gained insight into their principles of operation.I would very much like to see a revolution in energy technology. I envision solar thermal systems based around free piston Stirling power converters and/or thermoacoustic generators. I also dream of installations of vertically stacked wind turbines laterally supported by cables similar to those seen in antennas used to broadcast radio signals.
