As a Portfolio Manager I work closely with an established portfolio of commercial loan customers, managing administrative matters and responding to inquiries in an effective and timely manner to ensure quality credit standards are maintained. I interview new loan applicants, review refinance requests, and collect pertinent financial data used in establishing credit-worthiness, and assist with the preparation of loan authorizations, annual reviews and financial statement analysis on assigned customers. I assist and counsel customers when necessary regarding business management and financial matters related to their relationship with Bank of New Hampshire. Additional responsibilities include representing the Bank in the community by participating in civic organizations and community affairs, and promoting opportunities for new business by ensuring that a continuous effort is made to keep both existing and potential customers informed about our products and services.

As a Lending Assistant I worked directly with both Commercial Lenders, customers, and the commercial support team in reviewing loan files for new loans in process, managing electronic files for borrowers, as well as providing assistance with on-going portfolio management and problem resolution. Other duties included ensuring accuracy of multiple tracking reports and preparing and/or verifying various correspondence, legal documents, file maintenance, reconciliations. I developed knowledge of SBA loan programs and documentation, as well as the loan closing process.Skills necessary for this position were accuracy, attention to detail, planning and problem solving. Having strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities enabled me to succeed within this position, as well as a strong focus on Customer Service. Additional requirements included a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
