Accomplishments● Applied for and awarded Transportation Alternative (KDOT), KLINK (KDOT), CCLIP (KDOT), Waste Tire (KDHE), Entitlement and Discretionary funding (FAA), Historic Preservation and Heritage Trust Fund (Kansas Historical Society) grants to improve Marysville streets, parks, airport and historical sites.● Budgeted and administered millions of dollars in street, water and sewer projects.● Planned and administered construction of a $1.3 million nine-bay fire station using CDBG funding● Planned and administered construction of 1330 feet of Highway 77 using $1 million CCLIP grant● Worked with council to meet the challenges of the pandemic and continue providing services and improving our infrastructure● Converted water system from AMR (drive by) meter reading to AMI (tower) meter reading● Created and implemented a downtown tree program in conjunction with local businesses and the Kansas Department of Forestry to plant twenty trees (three different types) along Broadway to both beautify and create functional shade in downtown Marysville● Revamped the Asset Management program to help facilitate rotation of equipment so as to reduce spending on maintenance● Reduced city hall operating overhead by $8,000 a year through reductions in utility usage, paperless initiatives and change of communications platforms in my first year of employment.● Created a community accessibility program designed to allow more citizens of different abilities access to city parks and downtown businesses● Earned “Early Career Excellence Award” from the Kansas Association of City/County Management

The City of Chapman is a city of the third class with a population of 1394 ● Budget of $3.5 million● Chapman has 14 FT employees with Administration, Police Department, Municipal Court, Volunteer Fire Department, Electric, Water, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Streets, Pool, Parks and Indian Hill Golf Course. ● Utilities: There are 649 water, 611 sewer and 670 electric customers. Accomplishments● Directed contractors and engineers in the process and completion of a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) street project, as well as on a separate $500,000 street maintenance project.● Applied for and awarded $200,000 in CDBG funds with a 10% match from the city for sidewalk repair/installation.● Implementation of an Automated Meter Reading system that reduced work hours devoted to reading electric and water meters.● Creation of an Asset Management program designed to repair and rotate equipment so as to reduce spending on maintenance, including a fiscally responsible rotation of new police vehicles.● Instituted a cross-training program between water, wastewater, electric and streets to create more team effort and eliminate reliance on single individuals● Elected Chair of the Kansas Municipal Energy Association (KMEA) EMP 3 board, which is the organization contracted to negotiate and schedule the City’s wholesale electricity.● Appointed member of Dickinson County Economic Development Corporation● Reduced city hall operating overhead by $15,000 a year through reductions in utility usage, paperless initiatives and change of communications platforms.● Formed a partnership with the Chapman school district to increase the traffic safety in school zones.● Hired and trained a first time city/court clerk.
