    As the Art Director it was my job to execute all print and digital magazine layout, design, client ad production and proofing, and to work with staff and clients to publish the magazine on schedule. Design and layout of the bi-monthly, coffee-table quality magazine was entirely my responsibility, as was the creation of all promotional and marketing materials.     Conceived of, developed, and launched a “nautical provisions” company that featured twelve different products. The process included every aspect of small-business ownership, from product development to materials sourcing, forecasting, accounting, strategic partnerships, and manufacturing. I worked regularly with mass retailers like Michaels craft stores to create packaging and products licensed under an additional brand.

I was involved with all aspects of the company’s marketing efforts, including branding, invitations, signage and collateral for events. My other tasks included in-person press checks, and working with editors, professional photographers, advertisers, and graphic designers to produce a image driven, glossy magazine on a tight schedule and budget.
