    Worked on a five person crew restoring habitat, managing resources and responding to disasters. Receive hands-on training working on habitat restoration projects. Formal training was provided in power and hand tool safety and use, First Aid and CPR, defensive driving, trailer safety and operation, leadership and communication, wild land fire fighting and prescribed burning, GPS, and ATV training.Typical projects include restoring habitat by removing invasive species, building and improving motorized and hiking trails, stabilizing stream banks/controlling erosion, planting native trees, fighting wildfires and conducting prescribed burns. Habitat restoration projects were performed outdoors in partnership with public land management agencies such as State Department of Natural Resources, US Fish & Wildlife Service, National Park Service, cities, counties and trail associations.
