The YouthBuild NYC Collaborative (“the Collaborative”) has been working together since 2008 when it was formed as a professional development entity to help coordinate YouthBuild activity in NYC and provide peer support to YouthBuild directors. After roughly a decade of working together, and five years of having dedicated staff and budget, the Collaborative sought to understand the potential fundraising benefits, non-fundraising benefits, and costs that would result from formally incorporating as a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
