    • Summer Research Student
      • Jun 2021 - Jul 2021

During this role, I worked with professor Ruth Hernandez-Rios of the sociology department to curate the methodology training I have been receiving as an undergraduate student. I worked with an existing coding scheme to investigate transnational fathers' experience. Additionally, I learned how to use coding software and how it generates a systematic approach for generating patterns that explain human behavior and enhance my qualitative coding skills in Spanish. Furthermore, myself and professor Hernandez worked as a research team to organize data into a PowerPoint presentation together. Note: This summer research project is part of a long-term research project that investigates contemporary transnational communities and the data gleaned from this project will factor into a book project that examines Mexican migration to the northeast prepared by professor Ruth Hernandez-Rios.
