YES is designed to develop business awareness and an understanding of entrepreneurship in postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers, technicians, early career academics or knowledge exchange. This goal is achieved through a competition in which those participating prepare a business plan for a hypothetical company. YES takes place in the Autumn of each year. There are challenges covering the full spectrum of academic disciplines from the medical and biological sciences to astronomy, physics, chemistry and engineering, social sciences, environmental sciences and the arts and humanities. YES23 is organised jointly by The University of Nottingham’s Haydn Green Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (HGI), the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK), Midlands Innovation - TALENT, Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst (SBC) and Syngenta.
