I am a PhD candidate at the London Interdisciplinary Biosciences Consortium Programme https://www.lido-dtp.ac.uk. I am based at the Royal Veterinary College, London, working within Professor Dirk Werling's Molecular Immunology group. The project I am working on aims to identify carbohydrate structures in Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and Mycoplasma hyorhinis as potential vaccine antigens.I am currently establishing a method for porcine precision cut lung slicing (PCLS), and using the tissue as a novel infection model.

This dementia research project was funded by Alzheimer’s Society, and aimed to investigate the correlation between white matter hyperintensities in Dementia with Lewy Bodies and cortical tau pathology. This research required the analysis of MRIs, which I performed on the Mango 4.1 software, and this was later followed by the statistical analysis. In September 2019, I attended the undergraduate conference in London, where I had a chance to present my results to peer audience, lay public, and research professionals.

I worked on the project ‘Neurochemical Abnormalities in Dementia’ within a multitask group, and under the supervision of Dr Christopher Morris. My skills included examining human brain tissue, staining, processing, preparing samples. I am also familiar with numerous laboratory techniques (ELISA, Dot Blotting, Western Blotting, Gel Electrophoresis, Confocal Microscope usage, Imaris Bioanalysis software usage). I have been collecting, analysing and reporting the obtained data, and discussing the results with team members and supervisors.
