Overview

YINNOH derives from "Youth Innovation Hub". Aims to develop and strengthen economic opportunities, social entrepreneurship, Art and talents, and digital and life-building skills for refugees and marginalized local persons to discover and unleash their untapped potential to build community resilience and accelerate change through self-innovative exploration, and social entrepreneurship in uganda. To date, YINNOH has empowered over 211 youths. After being empowered, most of our scholars quickly obtained jobs in local and international NGOs such as “Save the Children”. Others are incubating and running their own social businesses. Any smaller or bigger impact they are creating makes us proud. YINNOH works with local and international partners to provide safe and transformational programs and free learning space to over 78,000 refugees living in the Rwamwanja settlement in southwestern Uganda. A "state-of-the-talents-Innovation, education, entrepreneurship and culture" for young refugees and local marginalized youths to innovate otherwise unavailable jobs, livelihoods, and cultural opportunities to turn the refugee settlement into a thriving place. With an aim to scale in other refugee and marginalized communities of Uganda, YINNOH first started with Rwamwanja. Through personal and professional development, We believe all refugees and marginalized youth can embrace who they are, define their future, and turn their everyday challenges into social and economic opportunities.
