Overview

Yetena Weg is a digital platform and a legally registered non-profit organization in Pennsylvania, USA. Our programs are entirely run by a volunteer global network of healthcare professionals and other experts committed to improving Ethiopia's healthcare service delivery. We started with 2 people, now we have more than 130 volunteers with diverse backgrounds. We are working on several programs to provide the public with evidence-based, freely accessible health information as well as to assist medical students & early career healthcare professionals in learning about current management practices and developing their skills to become the future leaders in the Ethiopian healthcare delivery system. The different programs we've been running on our various digital platforms include - Health advocacy program- where we create a space to advocate for policy level critical issues such as SRHR, disability inclusion, mental health. - Mentorship program- which is one of our flagship projects in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, where we intend to launch a new certification program on career and professional development in addition to our direct mentorship program - Health promotion: with different activities of 1) volunteer writers produce articles in local languages & publish on our website for the general public; 2)hold a yearly health article writing competition with the Ethiopian Medical Students Association (EMSA), 3) important health topics discussion with expert professionals to discuss & educate our audiences through audio chat applications; these topics include mental health, SRHR, & disability inclusion. - CME with CEU points - in partnership with professional associations & societies, including EMA, the Ethiopian Cardiac Professionals Society (ECPS) & the Dermaveronology Society (EDVS). - Research and QI Project - NEW! - Yearly Community Engagement activity
