Overview

The University of Plymouth Law Society (UPLS) is a student-run organisation who assist those interested in pursuing a career within the legal sector. Our intention is to support our members, helping them to build connections with both the current legal profession and other members of the society. In addition to this, members are able to develop their transferable skills while gaining a greater understanding of what it takes to be a lawyer. We give hands on experience by running a variety of successful competitions throughout the year. These include: Debating, Mooting, Negotiations, Mock Trial and Client Interviewing, all of which are supported by our local legal community who sponsor us and judge competition finals. Though our main focus is to help enrich members' CV’s, we also have an active social calendar including our annual Cheese and Wine event and our end of year Law Ball.
