    • Health Safety and Sports Officer
      • Sep 2022 - Present

In my role, I am responsible for the annual risk assessment, and ensuring all activities ran by the society are accounted for. I am also tasked with ensuring our members' health and safety, through interacting with members and external staff. For instance, I can communicate potential concerns to members, but also need to ensure paperwork and filings are promptly completed. I also manage both the football and netball teams for the society. In doing this, I also have an element of social media marketing experience, helping to plan and promote and events for the teams.

    • Lifeguard
      • Aug 2019 - Present

Having qualified as a lifeguard at 16 years old, I have developed a growing sense of responsibility whilst working. As well as the typical duties of patrolling poolside and monitoring safety diligently, it was also crucial to maintain a standard of total compliance to health and safety regulations. Off of poolside, my duties involved cleaning, providing tours of the premises, regular training in first aid, and general appearances at events to promote the centre.

    • Recreation Assistant
      • Apr 2019 - Present

My initial role at GLL was the supervision of children's activities, acting as an assistant to the needs of visiting parents, leading birthday parties, providing refreshments and general entertainment. Having been the first team member to work after the opening of the centre's children's area, I was also tasked with online promotions, creating advertisements and circulating posters. Upon qualification as a lifeguard, I did not undertake this role as often as before, but during school holidays, I assist in our holiday activities club, undertaking many similar roles to that which I once occupied on a regular basis.

    • Virtual Work Experience Placement
      • Mar 2021 - Apr 2021

Towards the end of lockdown, I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of twelve students across the country to be selected for a virtual work experience scheme at Schillings. Though it was limited in being online, I gained a valuable understanding as to how law firms work, and gave me more confidence ahead of beginning my studies at Plymouth. In this, we were lectured by guest professionals in the industry and learnt practical skills concerning data protection law. We were set work and practiced applying these principles and skills to scenarios, as well as scenarios that we see played out day to day. After the experience, we also spent six months in email correspondence with a tutor, who helped me in my transition from college to university.

    • Fundraising Assistant
      • Nov 2019 - Aug 2020

At Angel, I developed a natural grasp on customer services and connectivity. Working over the phone, my role involved taking donations, as well as marketing and outreach calls. Supporting charities such as WaterAid, MSF and the Salvation Army was extremely rewarding, and helped me to grow my passion for helping others, and an interest in global needs. Having also taken calls for charities like Crisis and Shelterbox, I was tasked with responding to difficult and urgent calls, where people were sometimes in desperate need. It was in this element that I developed skills in personality, quick thinking and online communication, helping people to access the support they needed.

As part of my school work experience, I acted as a classroom assistant at Charlestown Primary School, primarily assisting PE lessons. Outside of planning lessons and leading small groups, I also assisted in small group sessions with children who had special educational needs. I developed my teamwork skills and communication abilities in this, my first experience in a workplace.
