Environment Protection Authority South Australia (SA EPA)

Environmental Services

Overview

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’s leading environmental regulator, responsible for the protection of air and water quality, and the control of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. We acknowledge Aboriginal peoples as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work on, and are committed to supporting reconciliation. We influence and regulate human activities to protect and restore the environment. We administer the Environment Protection Act 1993 and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 1982, as well as developing guidelines and codes of practice. The EPA is governed by a Board with members representing business, community, local and state government.
