Overview
Sanjog is a social impact organization based in India. Since 2012, we have worked with governments, civil society organizations, businesses, individuals and collectives to combat violence against children and women. Sanjog is led by a group of thought leaders in mental health, social sciences, law, and organizational management. The executive team includes professionals who are committed to the causes of child protection, gender justice and social equity. We encourage leadership by assigning a programme director to each of our programmes. Our programmes include Caring Connections, a restorative care-based capacity building initiative for service providers who work for survivor rehabilitation; Utthan, a peer leadership and advocacy programme also based on restorative care and youth-adult partnership models; Kaarya, a resilience building micro entrepreneurship programme; and Tafteesh, which aims to strengthen legal and social systems for justice delivery to sex trafficking survivors in India. We have also done evidence-based research on stigma, migration, trafficking, gender, mental health and rehabilitation. As it plays the role of a facilitator between organizations, practitioners and trainers, Sanjog’s strategic role is influenced and shaped by all its internal and external stakeholders – the government agencies it collaborates with, partner organizations, and - most importantly - the vulnerable and marginalized people and communities it works with.
