The San Antonio Mobility Coalition is a non-profit corporation organized in 2001 to advocate for highway, street, transit, freight, and aviation funding for the greater San Antonio region. SAMCo members include Bexar County, the City of San Antonio, VIA Metropolitan Transit, the Alamo Area MPO, the Alamo RMA, AACOG, neighboring cities, San Antonio headquartered corporations, chambers of commerce, the transportation construction and materials industry, the real estate development community, the financial sector, consulting engineers and other interested organizations. The coalition was borne out of a need to remain competitive with other Texas cities and to address a significant transportation funding shortfall in the San Antonio region. Since its inception, SAMCo has helped to secure more than $9.6 billion in additional funding for transportation projects in the region.
