Overview
Located between the Haute-Chaîne du Jura mountain range and Switzerland, the Pays de Gex agglomeration community was created in 1996. It comprises 27 communes and a population of around 100,000. Pays de Gex offers an unspoilt living environment in a dynamic, internationally-oriented region. As a fast-growing community, Pays de Gex agglo is strengthening its skills to implement its 2015-2030 territorial project, in order to build the Pays de Gex of tomorrow. Pays de Gex agglo's main missions are to meet the needs of the people of Pays de Gex, in areas as varied as early childhood, transport, waste management and regional development, by pooling technical, human and financial resources. Pays de Gex agglo has managed the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve since 2003. The 27 communes of Pays de Gex: Cessy, Challex, Chevry, Chézery-Forens, Collonges, Crozet, Divonne-les-Bains, Echevenex, Farges, Ferney-Voltaire, Gex, Grilly, Léaz, Lelex, Mijoux, Ornex, Péron, Pougny, Prévessin-Moëns, Saint-Genis-Pouilly, Saint-Jean-de-Gonville, Sauverny, Segny, Sergy, Thoiry, Versonnex, Vesancy.
