About Us The employees of the Office of the State’s Attorney are responsible for prosecuting people who are accused of committing crimes in the county. Without prosecutors, every single person accused of a crime would go free. The main role of a prosecutor is to ensure that JUSTICE is done for the victims of crime, as well as the community at large. During a trial, prosecutors must persuade a judge or a jury beyond a reasonable doubt that the person accused of committing the crime is guilty. The Office of the State’s Attorney's is the largest law firm in Prince George's County, MD. Our agency is structured similar to any private enterprise. Positions include Human Resources, Finance, Communications, Technology, Project Management, Clerical & Administrative Support, etc. We also have legal positions that include Lawyers (called Prosecutors, Assistant State’s Attorneys or ASAs), Paralegals, Law Clerks, Investigators, and Victim Witness Coordinators.
